Civil jet airplane improves greatly the speed and efficiency of commercial flight, but the strong engine noise generated by high speed operation causes a strong public reaction, and soon attracts the attention of the society. It also makes the keen scientists notice the importance of civil aviation noise problems. In the current study to identify the engine noise, the noise is divided into four parts: Fan/compressor noise, Combustor noise, Turbine noise and Jet noise. With the recent improvements in engine design and application of high bypass ratio engines, the noise SPL of Fan/compressor noise, turbine noise, and jet noise decrease deeply, thus, the combustor noise is becoming more and more evident.In this paper, various aero engine combustor noise identification algorithms are introduced, pressure collection method based on an arc of the microphone array is also introduced in detail. Then the engine noise data in all propagation direction is treated by Beam forming and DAMAS, respectively, in order to analyze the sound pressure level(SPL) in aero engine combustor area, the relation between combustor SPL and the power of the engine. Finally, with the help of Matlab, a visualization research of combustor noise sources can be made, and their characteristics and trends can be drawn, to better meet the aero engine airworthiness certification standards.
