Car networking uses cars as a network terminal and information sources, which gets information about the car itself and the external environment through communications technologies. The system can analyze and interact in order to achieve intelligent transportation management. Currently, the communication of car-to-car, and vehicle-to-road uses IEEE 802.11p standard. The protocol standard baseband physical layer is still based on OFDM transmission scheme of IEEE 802.11a.But,the 802.11a standard is designed for indoor Wireless LAN. The OFDM parameters only for static model or less than 5km/h velocity model. When the speed of the car is 100km/h or more, the system will have a greater transmission errors. Due to the complexity of long multipath effects and fast time-varying channel which can lead the OFDM system performance degradation, we research IEEE 802.11p standard to improve the transmission system through the technical of the filter banks. This paper focuses on IEEE 802.11p standard and filter banks theory. We finished two systems basing on software radio system, the work we have done as follows:Studied the filter bank theory, detailing the prototype filter design, including theoretical derivation and amplitude-frequency characteristics of the filter.Studied the key technologies of IEEE 802.11p standard. Firstly, we studied the IEEE 802.11p transmitter, studied the coding of the PLCP layer of the transmitter physical layer. Then, we studied the problems of synchronization and channel estimation of the receiver. We conducted a static analysis and dynamic analysis using UML, which provide a framework for our coding. Finally, we get two radio system basing on different framework. And we realized the communications between the transmitter and receiver using GNU Radio. Detailed introduces the system operation steps and the result analysis.
