Water is the source of all things, like the air is the subsistence resources which the nature gives us, that is essential in the human, even the natural ecosystem. With the development of human society, water resources also gradually become a kind of the important strategy reserve resources between countries and a essential component element of national comprehensive strength. As a new era, China's water crisis intensified. The research strategies of water resources and new energy put sustainable development on the most important position. However the amount of water resources is certain. How to reasonable and effective use of limited water resources to ensure the development without damaging the water using benefits of human offspring,become an urgent problem to be solved. In the north drought region, this problem is particularly promient.Nowadays people's living quality have been improved. So people's concern is no longer a simple basic survival, they begin to pay more attention to improving the living environment. There are a lot of landscape designs springing up in urban residential erea. But these landscape designs pay more attention to the external form and ignore the use of the sustainable development of the water. Many kinds of landscape designs make the city colorful, but most of these landscape designs continues to waste water which is so precious resource. The contradiction is not serious in the southern rainy area of China. However, the wanton waste of water resources affects the people's daily life in arid north China. The article tries to find the best mode of water-saving landscape design, make this model can be widely used in all kinds of practical design cases and then solve the problem of the waste of water resources and urban waterlog in the urban landscape designs by combiming many kinds of literatures and field researches.This passage puts forward a whole article concept which conforms to the water-saving measures of the science and technology theories by synthesizing many kinds of urban landscape water saving measures' connotation of domestic and overseas to practical application and basing on the planning and design and putting concrete technique into consrtucting to adapt to the characteristics of Xi'an water-saving landscape design measures. Theories guiding practical work with combining water landscape and nature makes its function meet the demand of human social nature and inherit human socitey culture. So on that basis, we must be raise theutilization rate of water maximumly to achieve the water cycle use effect for making positive contribution to the development of water-saving landscape construction in Xi'an. The subject combines the concept of sustainable ecological with the cycle of advanced technology. Then it puts forward several water recycle methods of science and technology, such as low impact development, water treatment, and the rain flood resources recycle, etc. And it summarizes a series of opinions about water-saving landscape designs of Xi'an. In the end, this article analyses the actual case of water-saving landscape design.
