Cable supported latticed shell is a new kind of pre-tressed space structures. Because of the better cable arrangement, its self-weight and base reaction is reduced and overall stability is improved. This is based on the cable supported latticed shell of Guangrao International Expo centre whose mechanical properties are studied by 2 finite element softwares Midas and Ansys. The general research status space structures and pre-tressed space structures is introduced in this paper. Then, proposes the concept of cable supported latticed shell. General condition, design basis and loads of the project is carried out.Three structure systems are compared for scheme selecting mechanically and economically. The grid size, cable arrangement and supporting pattern of the cable supported latticed shell are optimizedThe static property of the cable supported latticed shell structure is studied. Influence of cable arrangement styles on the static property is obtained by the comparison of full model, horizontal cables only model, supporting cables only model and single layer latticed shell model. The influence of vertical and horizontal supporting stiffness is studied.Eigenvalue buckling analysis of the four models was carried out to obtain the buckling mode linear geometric critical load factor. nonlinear analysis and dual nonlinear analysis(geometric nonlinearity and material nonlinearity) were done to identify the critical load factor. Influence of the defect scale is also studied.Natural vibration properties were analyzed to identify its vibration frequency and modes. The dynamic performance analysis including the revitalization of decomposition response spectrum analysis and time history analysis were carried out to ascertain that the structure have enough bearing capacity under the earthquake action.
