This paper analyses the change rule of asphalt pavement surface shear stress peak value and the factors which influence the change of shear stress peak value.Using the multilayered elastic system theory, putting the GAMES software as a tool for mechanical analyzing, under the style of double rounds uniform load, considering the thickness value of pavement structure courses and the stiffness change as well as the difference of interface condition. This paper presents the influencing factors of shear stress peak value and its change rule for semi-rigid base course asphalt pavement structure. Some beneficial conclusions have been made: The effect of the thickness of surface course on the asphalt pavement is insignificant,so it is a waste of cost to increase the thickness of surface course in order to enhance the bearing capability.Furthermore it just plays a functional role and does not serve as a bearing structural course; The shear stress peak value can be little influenced by the change of the thickness of the base course,so it is unacceptable to increase the thickness of base course in order to provide a better anti-shear capability; The shear stress peak value in the surface course can also be decreased by the increase of base course modulus, but it is not obvious; With the increase of the modulus ratio between the wearing course and mid-course,the change of the shear stress peak value in the surface course can be obviously seen; The shear stress peak value in the surface course can be decreased by the decrease of interfacial bonding condition,so asphalt pavement shear stress peak value can be increased by the change of surface modulus and interlayer slipping. The thickness of pavement structure course is one of the influencing factors of asphalt pavement shear stress value, which is not obvious comparing with other influencing factors.
