Prefabricated castellated steel reinforced concrete(abbreviated as PCSRC) beam is a new kind of structure beam, which makes the most advantages of the steel reinforced concrete structure, prefabricated structure and castellated steel beams. With these outstanding advantages, it will be adopted in lots of building structures. In this paper, based on a series of experiment, the shear performance such as cracking modes, failure patterns, shear bearing capacity, rigidity as well as deformation were fully studied. And based on the experimental results, a set of formulas for the shear capacity and flexure rigidity were further derived and founded.Firstly, experiments of seven PCSRC beam specimens were conducted. All these specimens were designed as Tee shape with two flanges. In the experiments, the crack modes, the failure pattern, and the shear capacity and deformation were focused, and the influences of some key variables on the shear performance such as shear span ratio, the compression strength of in-site concrete, and the hole location of castellated steel beams were especially studied. Seen form the experimental results, some conclusions could be drawn as following:(1) the PCSRC beams were verified as fully composition action for not any visible longitudinal slippage between the precast oncrete, fresh concrete poured in-site as well as castellated steel was observed during tests;(2) The PCSRC beams behaved good deformation ability and ductility, in spite failed due to shear failure pattern;(3)the shear bearing capacity of PCSRC beams were affected by shear span ratio, fresh concrete strength, and position of castellated holes.Based on the experimental results and some existing design procedures, the calculation methods for shear capacity and flexure rigidity were derived and founded, and in this calculation methods, the influence of location and shapes of holes in the castellated beams were considered. And all the calculation methods were verified by the compression between the experimental and calculation results.The prefabricated and precast steel-concrete structures are important part in future steel-concrete composite structures, and the PCSRC beams are very usefully and will surely be widely used in practice for its advantages of mechanical performance, economical and rapid construction. And the above researches in this paper will be helpful for the application of this new kind of beams.
