With development of oilfields in China,the high-temperature & high-salinity reservoirs,which were used to be regarded as subsequent reserves,has been taken more and more seriously.Besides,because of the influence of early development of reservoirs,the heterogeneity of reservoirs in many oilfields have increased,let alone the water channelings in reservoirs.For the oilfields mentioned above,a new scheme of profile control and water plugging is needed to raise.However,the former works about this research area usually focused on polymer gel,inorganic gel and performed-particle-gel,etc.and the advantage of rigid particles for the high-temperature and high-salinity reservoirs have not been recognized.Therefore,a new plugging particle agent is purposed in this paper.Meanwhile,with the fundamental of previous plugging schemes and existing flow mechanism,a series of experiments were performed to study the properties of this kind of particles,such as screening of suspension system,packing of particles,plugging ability of suspension system and flow mechanism of particles in the porous media.The following conclusions can be driven from these experiments.Through the research of own characteristics of particle,the size of particles had been measured and the proper range of permeability application of particle could be determined.In addition,the particle ability of packing was also tested.Different suspension systems were screened to compare the advantage and disadvantage of each system,confirming the best system which was adapted to different reservoir with their own properties.A series of dynamic plugging experiments were designed and performed to test the plugging ability of particles,including the parameters such as permeability,injection rate,injection volume,type of particles and their mass fractions,etc.Then,the pressure curves of experiments were drawn according to results above.The visual microscopic simulation models and glass models were designed and manufactured,so the flow phenomenon of particles with different experimental parameters were observed directly by these models.And the force analysis of particles at some special locations in the models were simulated by COMSOL.The conclusion confirmed the various properties about certain kind of plugging particle and could guide the field tests about it.
