Santanghu area is an important exploration area and one of the target areas with high potential of production increase in Tuha oil field.The strata are mostly basalt and tuff with tight cementation.Thus it has strong abrasiveness and low drillability.This study is conducted on the mechanical properties of strata rocks and selection of customized drill bits,through technical research and field experiments,with the advantages of optimal and fast drilling.The study solved the problems such as drilling jumping,drill tool failure during drilling the volcanic rock in Haerjiawu,Santanghu,met the development requirements on valcanic rocks,and further fastened the drilling speed.In order to increase the rotational speed,shorten drilling cycle,and implement optimized,faster,low energy comsuming exploration and development,through in-door research and field experiments,a safe,optimized and fast drilling technology was developed to fit for the volcanic rocks in Santanghu basin.The technology includes the structural design of well profile and mechanical study of rocks,and effectively solved the problems in drilling at Haerjiawu,Santanghu.The field application of this technology provided engineering technical security for the economic and efficient development of secure blocks,fastened the production increase of Haerjiawu,Santanghu area,and provided guidance for the production increase and sustainability of oilfileds.
