As national economy booms,coal mines also develop rapidly.But with the increasing production of coal,the safety problems are becoming seriously year by year,especially with the gas problems.As in Shanxi Province,350 deaths have been caused by gas problems since2000,with direct economic loss of 300 millions.All coal mines that are being exploited in Shanxi are of gas mines,half of which are high-gas and gas-outburst mines.Therefore,gas problems must be solved immediately and the effect will directly affect the mine production.Precise prediction of gas emission from coal seams is the prerequisite for the treatment of gas problems,and it will figure out the amount of gas emission and composition of gas to provide reliable bases for the treatment of gas problems and the installation of gas drainage system.Because mine gas is usable green energy,its study has great significance for environmental protection,gas drainage research,accidental prevention and safe mine production.In this thesis,at first,the present condition of mine gas emission prediction methods is analyzed,the present condition of gas emission prediction in Qinshui Minefield of Yangquan Mine Area is described,and the prediction method for special geologic conditions in Yangquan Mine Area with limestones.Then,based on the present source prediction method,the on-the-spot measurement of gas content by drilling in digging area in Yangquan Mine,the collection of gas emission data over the years,and the accurate measurement of gas content by laboratory instruments,a new method of predicting gas emission rate with limestone layers is proposed.Finally,through the computation of the gas emission rate in the whole Yangquan Mine Area,with the limestone factor being considered,the error values of the 12 th and 15 th Mine Seams are within 3.46% and 3.65%,respectively.To sum up,the present gas emission prediction method only considers the emission for mine seams,ignorant of the multi-layer limestones in Yangquan Mine Area,where large amounts of free gas exist.Therefore,in this thesis,the prediction method and theory for gas emission with limestone layers is formulated,and its accuracy and feasibility are verified,which will provide reliable bases for the treatment of mine gas.
