In order to provide a theoretical bas:is of furniture manufacturing and glued laminated timber production for the Juglans sigillata plantation wood,according to the relevant standards at home and abroad,The Juglans sigillata of Fengshan County were used as testing materials and the physical-mechanical properties,machining properties,bonding properties joint properties and painting propertis were studied.The results of this paper were given as follows:(1)In physical and mechanical properties,the test is in accordance with the relevant standard including?General requirements for physical and mechanical tests of wood?.The Juglans sigillata wood average physical properties:the densities of basic wood,air-dried and oven-dried is 0.464g/cm3,0.552g/cm3,0.513g/cm3;the radial tangential and volumtric air drying shrinkage ratio is 3.4%,4.1%,7.8%;the radial tangential and volumtric shrinkage ratio is 6.0%,7.0%,13.1%;the radial tangen-ial and volumtric shrinkage coefficient is 0.349%,0.287%,0.506%,difference shrinkage is 1.228;the tangential?radial and volumetric swelling ratio is 2.2%,1.9,4.5%from oven-dried to air-dried state;the tangential?radial and vol-umetric swelling rate is 7.9%,6.7%,16.3%from oven-dried to saturated state;the maximum water absorption ratio is 155%.The mechanical properties:the toughn-ess is 48kJ/m2,the bending strength is 90.3MPa,bending elastic modulus is 9981.1MPa,the hardness of crossradial direction of 4022N,compressive strength parallel to grain of 43.5 MPa.The horizontal all compressive proportional limit stress of radial direction and tangential direction of 8.3 and7.8 MPa,and the horizontal local compressive proportional limit stress of radial direction and tangential direction of 10.9 and 9.5 MPa.The wood quality factor is 2883.5×105Pa,belonging to high-grade material,which shows the physical and mechanical properties of the Juglans sigillata wood were excellent.(2)In mechanical properties,according to forestry LY/T2054-2012 standards and American D1666-87 ASTM standards,Toona sinensis wood was choosed as control material to test.it shows Juglans sigillata wood and Toona sinensis wood have different quality in different processing procedure,the planing,sanding,shaping,mortising and turning performance of Juglans sigillata wood are better than the Toona sinensis wood except boring,but Juglans sigillata wood is better than Toona sinensis wood.In a score of 50 points,the mechanical processing performance score of Juglans sigillata wood is 42.12,which is slightly higher than the Toona sinensis wood's 41.21,it shows Juglans sigillata wood have excellent machining performance.(3)In bonding properties,according to the non structural JAS SE-8 standard in Japan,three different adhesive and texture combinations were choosed to test.it shows that in shear strength the epoxy resin>Glue board>white latex and tangential-tangential>tangential-radial>Radial-radial.According to the standard,only epoxy resin reach the standard requirements,the other two have failed to reach the standard requirements.(4)In joint properties,the specimen was made according to different ways of tenon joint,then the joint strength was tested by mechanical testing machine.it shows that through>non through mortise tenon,mortise tenon>mitre tenon,"T"tenon>"L" tenon in the joints,bonding area is an important factor in the tenon joint strength,adding glue can enhance the joint strength in a certain extent.(5)In painting propertis,the orthogonal test method was used to analyze the influence of number of belt,the amount of primer brush,the amount of topcoat brush,brushing process on painting properties.it shows the best finshing technology of polyurethane paint:belt using 240#,primer brush is 50g/m2,topcoat brush is 70g/m2,Coating Technolog is 2 times primer and 3 times topcoat;the best finshing technology of Waterborne Wood paint:belt using 180#,primer brush is 80g/m2,topcoat brush is 80g/m2.Coating Technolog is 2 times primer and 2 times topcoat;the best finshing technology of nitro lacquer paint:belt using 180#,primer brush is 80g/m2,topcoat brush is 80g/m2,Coating Technolog is 2 times primer and 3 times topcoat.
