Textile industry is an important part of China's national economy, has occupied a vitally foundational position in our industrial system and will still play a role of mainstay industry in the first half of the 21st century. With the constant growth of the world population, people's demand for textile has shown an increasing trend in the absolute amount. Viscose fiber is one of indispensable raw materials in textile industry,always maintaining its irreplaceable status. Based upon research on status quo of the world's fiber downstream market in recent years and analysis on the development trend, the market demand for fiber is estimated to keep growing in the future. Surpassing the U.S., China has been the world's largest fiber consumer.With the development of today's new technology, domestic viscose fiber manufacturers have mastered complete production technologies and equipment manufacturing level, gradually realizing the clean production and keeping viscose fiber production environment-friendly. In the production process of viscose fiber, it may use carbon disulfide (liquid) as solvent, associated with a certain amount of side reaction product, i.e. carbon disulfide gas, which will, without effective treatment, cause environmental pollution, endanger the employee health and meantime raise the cost of viscose fiber production. Therefore, how to recycle the carbon disulfide gas in exhaust gas is an urgent problem to be solved in the sustainable development of textile industry.This paper first analyzes the production process of viscose fiber, to find out the causes of "three wastes" from all points in the production process; it discusses the recovery technologies of carbon disulfide currently studied and applied in China, compares different recovery technology schemes, combines the production practice experience and chooses the solutions of the carbon disulfide recovery technology and exhaust gas treatment device applicable to the company; focusing on the design and calculation of main equipment (adsorption tank), selection and calculation of adsorbing media, etc, it achieves the application of exhaust gas adsorption units in the viscose fiber industry from theoretical basis to industrialized production. Through the exhaust gas emission data comparison against units before and after technological breakthrough, it carries out economic efficiency forecasts, and analyzes out those to be further improved.The application of the above technical measures can effectively recycle and utilize the carbon disulfide in exhaust gas, minimize the impacts of carbon disulfide to the environment, reduce the harm to employees and nearby residents and improve the reliability of equipment operation while lowering the production costs of products and increasing benefits.
