Mine reverse ventilation is a security measurement which changes fire smoke plume direction, confines fire area and make worker retreat safely through the presupposed reverse ventilation facilities during mine fire or explosion period. To confine the fire area and prevent the smoke plume to flow in face when fire, gas or coal dust explosion happened near the inlet shaft portal, shaft station or other inlet roadways and chamber nearby, the mine ventilation direction need to be changed and this is mine reverse ventilation.TF1M(3D) software is used to simulate the mine, the simulation provide the gas in the whole mine and especially the gas emission change law in coal face during reverse ventilation period. During the reverse ventilation period, mine air volume distribution is changed and the flow at face experiences the "reduction-stagnation-reverse" process. The dilution effect of face flow deduce and the confluence of inlet flow containing gas and face gas make the face gas probably overrun. It may cause the gas explosion when fire smoke plume flow through the face. TF1M(3D) software is used to simulate the process and the simulation show that after the peak time, gas concentration decreased stagely and every stage is a relatively stable one, it has relation to the complex of mine roadway network. TF1M(3D) software provides a more convenient platform to predict and control the gas content during mine reverse ventilation period and different reverse ventilation solutions to avoid the gas overrun during mine reverse ventilation period in Changping coal mine.
