There are three kinds of methods to calculate structural internal stress, exactly the experimental and numerical analytical method and numerical method. The experimental method includes field test and model simulations, the model experiment has an enormous advantage especially in inhomogeneous and anisotropic structure. And the model test method and numerical simulation method can be each verified. Model test method has two important points:one is the selection of similar materials, and the other is the measurement of stress.In the model experiment, the proper selection of similar material is the key factor to correctly simulate the prototype. Based on the experience of previous similar material research status and previous experience, through large of experimental ratios, a suitable similarity material is found. This material takes cement, lime, gypsum as cement, and takes sand as aggregate. Through large numbers of mechanical experiments and analysis of experiment data, the test of elastic modulus and Poisson's ratio, and the data fitting, finally we can get the similar material with high compressive strength and high tensile strength ratio, stable performance, easy to buy, cheap price, easy processing and packing, and similar to ideal material.The stress and strain is mainly measured by sticking strain gauge and the method of inner pressure box, but they are both unable to accurately describe the structure of the internal stress distribution. On the basis of the experiment, we make the strain stress brick based on the matching of strain deformation. It can be widely applied to the test of similar structure inner stress measurement.On this basis, this paper applies two sides load on Xiaoshengshuisi magnesite of Dashiqiao city in Liaoning province to simulate initial stress, measures the stress and strain of the model after excavation, get the actual stress status by using similarity principle, and compares with the results of numerical calculation ANSYS. The results show that similar calculation results and the numerical results are very small, so that it can be considered that the similar material we use is widely used, especially the produced strain and stress transfer.
