Nowadays with the improved in the mechanization of coal mining and with the worse condition in the geological, more and more high ash and difficult flotability fine coal appears, and its separation technology has become a severe challenge. As we all know, separation technology based on classification technology andhow to classify fine coal efficiently has become the focus. Based on the current classification for fine coal technology, the paper designes a Cone Hindered Settling Hydro-sizer and proposes a related classification process.Firstly, after the related parameters calculation, key components design and 3D simulation of the classifier, the paper used Fluent software for the flow field analysis, which revealed the distribution of the flow field classifier and also laid the theoretical foundation for the design of future experiments arrangement scheme. Meanwhile, on the basis of classifier design and flow field analysis, produced a classifier prototype and build the classification system. Secondly, the free settling laws of a single spherical particle moved in different media streamswas analysised, and then gave a single spherical solid particles in vertical ascent media one-dimensional equations of motion in the stream. At the same time, the article established mathematical model of particle group classification process,proposed a "constant line" classification theory, namely that with the classification process,when classification machine bed equilibrium in a bed position line location,a mineral particle interfering with the department's top water sedimentation rate rising speed grader bed height of its body position in which the same, and gave the differential equations at this heightofthe particle content change, which expanded the fine coal's theory of gravity hydraulic classification.Using the developed classifier to do the classification tests of fine coal, the results show: using the method of single factor variable control to make the classifi- cation experiment with CHSH-I type of experimental system, the classification efficiency from wide grain size of feed were better than narrow grain size, four single factor affecting the classification efficiency of narrow grain size was more significant than wide grain size; By using CHSH- ? type of experimental system for the classifi- cation experimental study of a mixture of 0.25-0.125 mm and 1.0-0.5mm size, Box-Behnken Design of experimental design found out different factors affecting the classification efficiency,givedthequadratic fitting model with different factors. Finally, after the data analysis of classification experiments and the research of fine coal classifi- cation technology, the paper proposed a fine coal closed-classification process.
