Isopropyl alcohol is an important organic solvent and an organic materials to modern industrial. Isopropyl alcohol can be used in the production of acetone and hydrogen peroxide, the synthesis of glycerol, isopropyl acetate, isopropyl ammonium salts and other products. It is also used for the preparation of antifreeze additives and fungicides, insecticides, preservatives. With the strengthening of environmental protection efforts, isopropanol instead of chlorinated solvents and HCFCs are used as an electronic device cleaner, that lead to isopropyl a broader development prospects.China Petroleum Jinzhou Petrochemical Company is the first manufacturer of isopropanol in domestic. The company imported the Veba process of isopropyl alcohol production, which used phosphoric acid as catalyst with loaded in diatomite, phosphoric acid mass fraction 20%-30%. Due to poor mechanical properties of the support, tend to argillization when diatomite contact with liquid water. This is always easy to plug the reactor and bring loss to users. Therefore, the research and development of a high activity catalyst with a high mechanical strength and hydrothermal stability becomes the target of Propylene hydration reaction.In this experiment, the activated carbon be used as the supporter of new solid phosphoric acid catalyst. Activated carbon has porous structure, good thermal stability, high phosphoric acid load, that made carbon has the potential value of the preparation of solid phosphoric acid catalyst. In this study, the activated carbon carrier combined with phosphoric acid using a grafting materials, and the active ingredient component covering with a protection material, to improve the phosphoric acid load strength and reduce the loss of the active ingredient, so that enhanced catalyst stability and life. This thesis made research of catalysts production method so that prepared a new solid phosphoric acid catalyst with good catalyst catalytic activity and stability. After that we learned the production factor of isopropanol propylene hydration reaction experiments. Experimental results show that the new produced phosphoric acid catalyst has good propylene hydration reaction exhibits excellent catalytic activity, under conditions of reaction temperature 200?, pressure 2.2Mpa, water mole ratio 1.4, WHSV 1.5h-1, the propylene conversion about 3.6%, and selectivity is more than 94%.
