There are two independent evaluation systems:the evaluation system of agricultural m echanization and the evaluation system of the rural sustainable development. This thesis mai nly focuses on how to extract the factors that influence greatly on the both independent evalu ation systems and how to integrate them to form a new evaluation system. To achieve this tar get, this paper introduces the approach model of cross system engineering which originates i n Northeast Agricultural Experiment Field of Japan, and a comprehensive study is made by c ombining agricultural mechanization with the rural sustainable development by means of the model.According to the result of the factors of rural sustainable development of Changsha, A HP quantitative analysis, the thesis expounds twelve elements, such as agricultural GDP, the total output value of agriculture, the agricultural added value, farmers’income and consumpt ion level and so on, significantly influent the rural sustainable development in Changsha. Wh ile from the result of AHP quantitative analysis on the agricultural machinery development f actors of Changsha, it is discovered that five significant factors greatly impact on the agricult ural mechanization development in Changsha, which are the net income per capita of farmer s, agricultural equipment level, rural urbanization level and so on. On the basis of borrowing idea from the classical handling model of the relationship between foreign agricultural mech anization and the rural sustainable development, this paper respectively discusses the relation s between each main factor of the two evaluation systems and its effect on the overall level o f the other. At the end, the thesis proposes the influencing factors of the agricultural mechani zation and rural sustainable development in Changsha by introducing the model of cross syst em engineering and assimilating the element which affects the most in the two evaluation sys terns. While analyzing the pertinence of the both, the author makes empirical investigations and analyzes the related data and draw the conclusion:the agricultural mechanization and r ural sustainable development are strongly affected by these factors such as the farmers’net in come per capita, agricultural machinery innovation level, agricultural machinery production conditions and rural environmental carrying capacity, the transfer number of agricultural lab or and land area per capita, policy support factors for agricultural machinery in Changsha, ural social welfare level and agricultural machinery efficiency factors.
