It’s a very important problem that urbanization brings traffic and environmental problems with the development of many big cities. The public bicycle program is a new choice to solve this problem. In my paper, I choose Guangzhou public bicycle rental program as the case, with analyzing this public bicycle phenomenon all over the world, give my definition and classification of the public bicycle program. In this paper, I used case study approach analyzing the data of using people in Guangzhou Public bicycle program, and prove that this program is very useful supplement to public transport in the city.In my opinion, public bicycle is a green, public and public welfare program. It can make many positive externalities, such as improve urban traffic congestion, reduce urban air pollution, improve resource utilization, improve the city’s image, etc. But because we do not give a clear positioning and support policies now, we cannot develop it well even into the woods.In this paper, I suggest that we can build public bicycle development system with public financial support. At first, we need combine the public bicycle into the public transport system, so that it can get enough fund support. Then we need marketing methods to help reduce the high operation cost of the public bicycle program. |
