Analysis Of The Regional Difference Of Urbanization Development In Gansu Province

Urbanization process promotes the development of regional economic in a healthy and sustainable way, driving the transformation of regional industrial structure, solving the problem of agriculture, rural areas and farmers, promoting all-round social progress. Currently, the focus of China’s urbanization development is in the western region. As a poor place in the regions of China’s urbanization development, Gansu province has a low level of urbanization and huge regional differences. In order to find the features of urbanization development in every region of Gansu province, it is necessary to take a rational index system and analysis methods to evaluate the regional differences of urbanization development.Firstly, the paper introduces the research of urbanization status at home and abroad, theory and analysis method. Then the paper analyzes the present situation of the development of urbanization in Gansu province by establishing an index evaluation system. Using data envelopment model and Malmquist Index, the paper analyzes the efficiency of urbanization in Gansu province. With selecting specific indicators from the social development, economic development, infrastructure, energy conservation, environmental protection, urban development, the paper analyzes regional differences of urbanization development using Cluster analysis method. Finally, the paper integrates the actual situation and the evaluation results in every cities in Gansu, posing some relevant advices form coordinated development、industrial developments municipal infrastructure、public service、technical progress to accelerate the urbanization development in Gansu province.
