The Study On “Front-line Staff Mentoring System” In Small And Micro Enterprise

Mentoring, is a mature employee training system, has been researched and practiced over twenty years in USA. Now, over 70% USA enterprise has selected mentoring as their employee training system and achieved remarkable incomes. In China, mentoring has been introduced into Dongruan, Huawei, Shenhua and other large enterprises. However, the application and effects of mentoring in small and micro enterprises was paid little attention.In this study, we firstly card the literatures of mentoring. Then, according to the actual situation of small and micro enterprises, we developed “front-line staff mentoring system” model. In this model, ability, vision, personality and hobbies were screened as “mentor-mentees” match factors. Moreover, the application protocol and supporting system and the phasic specificity were explored. Finally, “YIWEI Machinery Co., Ltd.”, a small and micro enterprise, was selected as example to carry out the “front-line staff mentoring system” for employee training. According to the actual situation and industry characteristics, the “four phase and four level” model was innovatively set up to carry on “front-line staff mentoring system”.Results showed that the satisfaction degree between mentors and mentees is more than 80%. Over 80% mentees and mentors conformed that this training system benefits to personal occupation development and comprehensive quality improvement and their occupation development. Moreover, stay willing, loyalty, occupation honor and mutual harmony were obviously increased, whereas training costs were significantly reduced. Additionally, the “open and interactive learning” and “human-orientation” enterprises culture was obviously strengthened. Those results indicated that “front-line staff mentoring system” is suitable for staff training in small and micro enterprises, which might benefit to their long-term development.
