Livelihood is a kind of system which integrated ecological and socio-economic value. Therefore, which emphasizes the vulnerability analysis and mitigation called vulnerability analysis method needs more attention on vulnerable livelihoods and resilience. However, due to the lack of relevant research experience, understanding the vulnerability and resilience of livelihood has a limit. In the present study, Minqin Oasis farmers are the research object, for whose livelihood Investigation shows the developments of the livelihoods of local farmers in changes of the policy and environment, and its adaption and recovery. The results show that under the fragile local ecological environment, there exist defects among local farmers. In addition, there are limitations on the farmers getting their livelihood resource capacity. These indicate that local farmers has been strongly interfered by the environment and policy changes, and weaken its ability of response and to deal with these disturbances, showing the vulnerability of the entire livelihood situationOn the other hand, through analysis, the study found that in support of policy, farmers adjust to the planting structure, positively develop the greenhouse vegetables, and cut spending on livestock breeding industry, while increasing the export of labor services. More families participate among migrant workers, and have easy access to more non-agricultural labor income. Household livelihood strategies in the above changes adapt to the structural changes in the livelihoods of the capital. Adaptive livelihoods of farmers showed the resilience of livelihoods of local farmers. The study also found that the existence of disparities in the vulnerability of the farmers showed a significant difference. Poorer households are higher vulnerability of their livelihoods. However, due to the strategies and flexibility of poorer farmers in more diverse livelihood, There is no evident difference between the poor than the non-poor farmers. Therefore, from the practice of local farmers, the high livelihood vulnerability does not necessarily leads to low resilience, the relationship between livelihood vulnerability and livelihood resilience is analyzed in conjunction with the specific practice.
