E-commerce is flourishing in our country, it has become a market outbreak that not only shakes the retail industry, but also extendsto other industries such as finance, logistic and manufacturing with equal speed. Along with the rapid development of these industries, many E-commerce enterprises are growing exponentially, especially those under Taobao’sumbrella.In2013, Taobao total sales were in trillions. On "Double Eleven" promotion alone, Taobao total sales exceeded35billion Chinese Yuan in a day. In such a short time, Taobaoshipped out over18million packages. Information technology in platform management, payment management as well as logistic and distribution play anextremely important part. It is not an exaggeration to say that in5years time, the question will not be whether an enterprise should involve in E-commerce or not, but, rather, if you do not involve in E-commerce, you will inevitably be eliminated throughmarket competition.Through intensive investment in recent years, the information technology development of Taobao platform can now satisfy requirements such as serving large orders, providing simple processes, speedy payment and many more. However, the6millions sellers that rely on Taobao large-scale platform are lagging behind. Many enterprises have no call centers, many sellers are operating without the support of ERP system, large warehouses are not backed up with RF technology and no effective data analysis system are utilized."Elf Sack" is a seller under Taobao’s umbrella with sales over500million Chinese Yuan annually. In recent years, its growth exceeds100%per year."Elk Sack’s" orders continue togrow, its warehouse gets bigger and more and more people are employed. If "Elf Sack" does not develop their information technology, it will have to face the slowing down of orders, the inability to meetits sales target, deterioratinguser experience, the loss of customers and many other challenges. This research exploresinformation technology development strategies fromTaobao’s large seller’s perspective as a reference for over a hundred other big sellers that Taobao has.
