With the development of financial service to small and micro enterprises (SMEs), in recent years, the Country attached great importance to this issue and had formulated a number of policies to guide the society to promote the development of SMEs (especially by encouraging the financial institutions to concern about and support for the development of SMEs). After the new leadership takes office,"spur growth" is bound to become a top priority of its work, and the development of SMEs plays a very crucial role to ensure the sustained and rapid economic growth. With the transformation pattern of economic development and optimization of the economic structure, the banking industry, as the main finance media of the whole economy, has to make some change. China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) promotes the financial services of SMEs as a key work of banks, and has formulated and implemented policies and measures to encourage banks to carry out financial services of SMEs. However, there are still plenty of SMEs cannot find sound support of funds and financial services.Thus there is strong practical significance to study the practices and mechanism of Wells Fargo Bank, which has top1financial services Bank of SMEs in America.This paper starts from the current domestic and international financial services situations of SMEs (especially focusing on Wells Fargo’s Financial Services mode of SMEs). The paper makes a detailed analysis of SME financial services mode of Wells Fargo from two aspects:community bank and small and micro financing. In addition, the paper compares and summarizes the gap between domestic SME financial services and Wells Fargo’s and proposes some suggestions to domestic commercial banks on how to carry out SME financial services and business. The paper also raises some innovative ideas to improve domestic SME financial services, such as "comprehensive upgrade outlets affection marketing"," multi-functional bank cards serving people in communities " and " the use of Internet tools ".The paper still has some deficiencies. The author worked in a bank specialized in financial services to SMEs. In daily practical work, the Bank adopts some approaches and measures to promote SME financial services learned from the Wells Fargo Bank. Yet suggestions in the paper and analysis of the characteristics of SMEs service difference between Wells Fargo and domestic commercial banks may need to completed and deepened in author’s daily work practice and further study.
