Adaptive optics system is a complex system involving the optics, the machinery, the electronics and the algorithms. No matter in the design process or in actual use, there will be a lot of difficult problems. Specifically, at the early stage of system design process, how to select parameters of optical system devices and circuit parameters of electronic control system will be most system designers’ problems; In application, system hardware and software usually need to be updated as well as some algorithm, after the update, how to verify the system performance effectively. The monte-calo simulation provides an efficient and reliable way to solve the above problems, and provides a reference for the design of new system.Based on simulation system data source generation and simulation platform design, the key instrument Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor modeling method and the accuracy of numerical simulation about it will be discussed in this paper. optimization method is proposed on the basis of predecessors’ work. It mainly includes: On the basis of the mathematical and physical model research of Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor, optimization calculation of Shack-Hartmann sensor spot image with consideration of the filling coefficient(or duty cycle) of CMOS image sensor will be discribed, according to the characteristics of CMOS image sensor. A detailed analysis of using the regional mean algorithm to calculate pixel value to approximate the reality with the consideration of the filling coefficient considering(or duty cycle). Wavefront phase fluctuation is simulated according to the Kolmogonov model, as well as wavefront sensor imaging spots flicker according to the Rytov variance. Based on the above models, more accurate data source for system simulation is generated. In aspect of simulation platform, a platform building plan and a preliminary design of hardware and software is explored, which provides a reference for the building and designing of future real-time simulation system.At present, Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor simulation and optimization has been done; the hardware design of the simulation platform based on DDR3 memory and optical module is also mentioned in this paper. The digital system design based on FPGA for image storage and flow control has been finished, PC software based on Qt for simulation demonstration and communication design has been written.
