Thermo Electric Cooler(TEC), which can use Peltier effect for refrigeration and heating, is widely applied in agriculture, medicine, military because of it has small volume, low power consumption and is easy to control. In order to improve the control precision, the real-time and the stability, the TEC temperature control system based on the ARM and the μCOS-II is proposed.The TEC temperature control system based on the ARM and the μCOS-II consists of the microprocessor module, the temperature collection module, the drive controller module, the wireless transceiver module, the man-machine interaction module and the storage module. The STM32F103RCT6 microprocessor based on the ARM Cortex-M3 is used as the processor of this system, the PWM technology is applied to control the TEC voltage to realize power regulation for the temperature control. The touch screen technology is applied to the man-machine interaction module which makes the control interface more intuitive, the operation to be simple and operation experience improvement. The wireless transceiver module can replace of the cable in short distance to realize data wireless transmission, the data analysis, the display and monitor.The μCOS-II embedded operating system is used in the TEC temperature control system, which can divide the system into different modules to design the software and improve the efficiency of system development. In order to control accurately the temperature and get good performance, the digital increment PID algorithm is used in the temperature controlling algorithm. The software in PC is designed based on MATLAB GUI to collect the data in real time by the wireless communication module and show the temperature curve in the interface, and it can get the control performance intuitively.The hardware and software of the TEC temperature control system based on the ARM and the μCOS-II are realized and measured. The system stability, the temperature control accuracy and the system overshoot were tested. The experiment results show the control accuracy of system is 0.5°C, and the overshoot is less than 5% and it has short response time and good stability.
