In the environment without fixed network infrastructure, Mobile Ad hoc network can quickly and self-organized form any temporary network topology wherever it can. It is widely used in military and civilian areas. A MAC protocol controls the nodes of access methods and access strategy for the physical layer. It is critical for whether the channel resources can effectively utilized of the nodes. Due to the mobility of the nodes and instabllity of wireless links, there exists many problems and challenges of MAC protocol in mobile Ad hoc wireless network. The MAC protocol of Ad hoc network is the key researching contents in recent years. CSMA/CA is a MAC protocol that is based on competition mechanism. IEEE 802.11 adopts CSMA/CA as its MAC protocol. The research on network performance of CSMA/CA protocol in various network envioment is an important research topics.CSMA/CA protocol is the main research object at the article. The main content is the characteristic of mobile Ad hoc networks, working principle and operating mechanism of CSMA/CA protocol and the research and analysis of CSMA/CA performance simulation in various network envirment.This article builds the Ad hoc network model based on TCP/IP five-layer network architecture.The network layer adopts Fisheye State Routing protocol. Data link layer adopts CSMA/CA protocol. By constructing the mobile Ad hoc network model, we analyze the characteristic,performance and applicable network scenarios of CSMA/CA protocol.
