With the rapid development of communication technology, satellite communications has played a very important role in military and civilian application domains, with its characteristics of long distance transmission, wide coverage, accurate and efficient. A series of satellite systems, represented by U.S. military satellite system, have been given more and more public concern. Among them, as an important part of U.S. military communications, the Mobile User Objective System(MUOS) can meet the U.S. military’s needs for high performance communication capabilities of tactical satellite on a global basis. This paper takes MUOS satellite communication system as the research object, 5 kinds of blanket jamming as the jamming method including broadband noise jamming, partial band noise jamming, single tone jamming, multiple tone jamming, and pulse jamming. By exerting different jamming signal t o MUOS system, the BER performance is analyzed. First, by stating the working principle of MUOS system, this paper introduces the composition of MUOS system, working mode and anti-jamming methods. The transmitter and receiver model of MUOS system has been build, and they both are programmed by using software method. We also simulate the BER performance of MUOS system under different Signal-to-noise ratio conditions. Second, different kinds of blanket jamming signal has been modeled and simulated by this paper, and the features of time domain and frequency domain are also analyzed. Third, as is the focus of this paper, it studies the jamming effect of different kinds of interference. By using software simulation platform MATLAB, we simulate and analyze the BER performance of blanket jamming, and get the simulation curve of JSR-BER. The effect of signal parameter settings, such as interference signal bandwidth and center frequency deviation, has also been discussed. At last, with the help of simulation curve, we compare the simulation results of different kinds of jamming under the same Signal-to-noise ratio conditions.
