Traditional radio platform were always realized based on hardware.The hardware equipment alwaya takes long time and needs higher cost during the research and development period. Once the functional requirement has been changed, it needs to redesign the hardware platform, which causes the waste of source and money. Software defined radio can solve these problems successfully. The moment, SDRs are made up of RF front-end module and signal processing part.mostly. The sigal processing platform always develops the algorithm based on DSP, but there is not human-machine interaction function, the interface flexible is quite bad and the reconfigurable is not strong among different CPU.In this article, analyzingthe actual demand of this project, proposing a hardware and software are all reconfigurable platform architecture, and submodule design and implementation. With high reconfigurablity, scalabitily universality, the most important innovation point is the sepration of mother board and daughter board, the scalability and reconfigurablity communication way between different subsystems. This architecture is based on ARM+FPGA+DSP architecture, using the flexibility and reconfigurability to realize overall reconfigurability and control the signal receiving and launching. Using the advantage of DSP to realize the algorithm development and complex signal processing. Using ARM to expand memory space and external interface.There are two main innovative points in this article. The one is the communication way between DSP and ARM, there are two ways can complete the communication between DSP and ARM. One is using HPI. Another is FPGA’s true dual RAM reconfigurablity, abanding the traditional method of using dual port RAM chip to improve the platform reconfigurablity of the platform. Another innovation is the hardware separation of modular design. Hardware design scheme of using RF board and main board to separate. Sheet used to implement the signal receiving and preprocessing. Motherboard is used to complete signal processing, algorithm development and the platform of resource management and process control. Three core board based on DSP, FPGA and ARM chip to extend three child module. All three can either work independently and joint work.According to the modular design ideas, completed the hardware design of each module, including the selection of chips, periphery circuit design, the design of the communication interface between different modules. And completed the hardware platform based on the platform of software design, hardware and software debugging. Finally with the help of some routines, platform function of each module and the coordination between different modules for testing. Test results show that the platform as well.
