Three-dimensional(3D MIMO) technology is considered as one of prowising technologies in the next-generation(5G) wireless comunications. However, an accurate and practical 3D MIMO channel model is necessary to exploit the 3D MIMO technology. Hence this thesis concentrates on 3D MIMO modeling which based on the model of WINNER, and the 3D MIMO multi-user system also analyzed deeply. The main contributions of this paper are concluded as follows.Firstly, 3D MIMO channel are studied and compared with 2D MIMO channel. Based on the 2D MIMO channel model of WINNER 3D MIMO channel model is obtained by means of increasing Evolution angle.Secondly, 3D Kronecker channel modeling is studied. To get 3D Kronecker channel model, the transmit correlation matrix and receive correlation matrix are derived, in closed form. And then the complexity of 3D Kronecker model and that of 3D analytic model are compared. At last the proposed 3D Kronecker model is verified by Monte Carlo simulation results. The simulation results also shows that 3D channel has higher capacity and lower correlation compared with 2D channel model, and that VMF distribution is more suitable to describe 3D channel angle.Thirdly, 3D Weichselberger modeling is investigated. 3D Weichselberger model is modeled to solve the problem that 3D Kronecker model can not reflect the characteristic of real 3D channel. The conclusion that 3D Kronecker model is a special case of 3D Weichselberger is derived by means of theoretical analysis and also verified by simulation results.Lastly, 3D MIMO multi-user system. 2D MIMO multi-user system and 3D MIMO multiuser system are compared based on thorough study of the MIMO multi-user system. According to theoretical analysis, the capacity of 3D MIMO multi-user system is higher than 2D MIMO case.
