The Study Of Migrant Worker’s Reports In Qilu Evening News

Over the thirty years of Reform and opening up, great changes have taken place in China’s economy, society and people’s life. All these achievements can’t leave a big group, they flee their homes and families, stood the test on both the body and mind, never give up although it’s hard. In the tide of time, they have a common name—Migrant Workers.Migrant workers are the participants of the Reform and opening up, the major force of the urban development and the new residents in the integration of urban and rural. Medias, as the recorders and witnesses, follow the struggles of the migrant workers in their unique way. It’s worth thinking that how to construct migrant workers’media image, how to help them integrate into the city life faster, how to digest the gap with the city and the citizens. Metropolis daily can contact the migrant workers’real life closer, which depends on the advantages of it’s survival environment. For this purpose, the author choose the Qilu Evening News as the research object, analysis the reports about the migrant workers from 2000 to 2014.This paper is divided into five parts. The first part plays the guidance role by combing the domestic research status on this problem, introducing the theoretical foundation and the method of the same selection. The second part analyzes the frame factors of the migrant workers’reports from 2000 to 2014. The third part gives us the image of migrant workers in Qilu Evening News from two angles:the one is from the perspective of readers and editors, the other is from themselves with the purpose to show the changes of the cognition of their own images. The next part is the research aim, analyzes the gain and loss, affecting factors and putting forward suggestions. AS a metropolitan paper, Qilu Evening News basically adhere to the multiple perspectives, distinctive position and the concept of human nature. But simultaneously it also has some deficiency of random and tabbed. The last part is the summary of the research achievements and shortness.From migrant workers’own perspectives to conclude the media images is the innovation. In previous studies, the analysis are more from a third angle:the image in the readers’eyes or the editors’mind. However, the first perspective, the perspective of the migrant workers on their own image cognition, can more directly reflect their understandings of their social status, their hope and difficulties of the life in the city. The spoken dialogue can show this change obviously. Through the analysis, the shift of the self-awareness from strangers to new citizens can be finded.
