Body-centric wireless communication is developing into a crucial component of 4thgeneration communication system because of its potential implementations in health case, recognition system, entertainment and medical filed. In those fields, mobile clients should interact with digital devices through wireless communication. This shows the significance of researches on body-centric wearable antenna.Different from the designing of normal antenna, wearable antenna should consider the complexity of dielectric and electromagnetic situation inside human body. Biologically, human body consists organs with different electromagnetic properties. And most of the tissues are inhomogeneous media, which increase the difficulty in measurement and research. Thus a thoroughly electromagnetic model of human body should be established for the research of studying interactions between human body and antenna to design wearable antenna. This paper will show the research of wearable antenna in the following aspects:First we analyze the characteristics of human body’s electromagnetic properties from previous researches, and use opened coaxial terminal as a supplemental method to measure the relative dielectric constant of living tissues and a partial of human organs. Then a comparison will be made to select an effective model as a reference.Second, a complete human body model will be built based on adult male’s body by implementing software. Then the model will be evaluated, subdivided and numerically analyzed. The electromagnetic model of human body will be simplified in different scales from component to entirety, from multi-layer dielectric to single dielectric under the guarantee of same radioactive situation of antenna. At last, a conclusion about the regular pattern of human body’s effect towards the efficiency of antenna will be made based the previous research of equivalent human body’s electromagnetic model. And there will be an analyze about the reasons of this effect by studying the current distribution at the surface at both antenna and human body.
