As time goes on, the solid state power amplifier and pulse compression technology have been gradually applied in the field of marine radar. The application of the pulse compression technology can improve the ability of radar detection. But the pulse compression signal which is filtered through matched filtering has a problem of time sidelobe interference. In the multi-target environment, the time sidelobe of pulse compr-ession signal would drown small targets nearby. With the wide application of the pulse compression signal in the radar system, the time sidelobe suppression problem has attracted much attention. In order to solve this problem, this paper studies a method of radar time sidelobe suppression based on compression sensing.In addition, since the large data of the radar images, there is a difficult problem of transmission and storage. In order to solve this problem, this paper studies the radar image compression method based on compression sensing and advances a method of compressed sensing based on background subtraction and wavelet transform for radar image processing. The main researches in this paper are as follows:(1) This paper studies a method of radar time sidelobe suppression based on compressed sensing. Firstly, according to the characteristics of the baseband of radar echo signal and the baseband signal through matched filtering, the baseband signal is represented sparsely, and then the baseband signal is measured incoherently. Finally, the position of each target is reconstructed by the reconstruction algorithm. This method can not only reduce the data of collection, but also suppress the radar time sidelobe, which improves the ability for distinguishing the small target.(2) This paper studies a method of radar image compression based on compressed sensing. Firstly, in this paper, the correlation of radar image is reduced through wavelet transform in order to improve compression ratio. The high-pass wavelet coefficients of the radar image are measured and the low-pass wavelet coefficients are preserved. By using reconstruction algorithm, high-pass wavelet coefficients could be recovered by the measurements. Finally, the radar image could be reconstructed by the inverse wavelet transform On this basis, a method of compressed sensing based on background subtraction and wavelet transform for radar image compression is proposed. Experiments show that the proposed method can keep high compression ratio and improve the reconstruction quality of the radar images effectively.
