The Design And Implementation Of The Automated Installing Test Solution For SUP

Software automated testing is to complete the task of testing software by some test tools.Compared to manual testing,automated testing can obviously improve the efficiency of test.shorten the cycle and reduce the cost of test.Sybase Unwired Platform called SUP is a mobile platform project in Sybase to make the data and process of the enterprise mobile. SUP is made of Runtime and SDK.Runtime is a engine server based on J2EE, SDK is a development toolset. Runtime is the core of SUP.a moduel to provide the services during the application running in the server.The paper takes the two kinds of Runtime,Single and Simple Cluster as the test object, to verify the accuracy and compatibility of the installation of Runtime.The test mainly is from three dimensions of operating system,the length of memory address and the input parameters from the installation interface.The manual test of installing SUP has some problems such as more test cases,longer test time, and so on.So they would result in low efficiency of the test and high cost of test.Thus based on STAF framework,the paper use the three kinds of scripts to control the different process of all test tasks in different virtual environment and to realize the automated testing.The three scripts include machine control scripts,execution flow control script and operation command control scripts.The main work of paper is to finish a automated installing test solution for SUP,The paper introduced the design of test cases, the implementation of the scripts, building the environment before testing.In the end,it also provide the anomalous analysis and processing during the test.Among all the tasks.the scripts and test cases are the entity of the results.The automated test solution not only has the cross-platform,resusability,and supporting multiple languages characteristics inherited from STAF,but also it has strong extensibility. The solution can save the cost of test,increase the efficiency of test,and it also will lay a foundation for all the test of installing SUP.
