Laboratory Information Management System (Laboratory Information Management System, abbreviation LIMS) is the Information technology and Laboratory Management needs the combination of Information Management tool. Along with the metal mechanics performance test technology development, to the testing accuracy and test ability had the higher request, the traditional metal material mechanics performance laboratory management mode in the parameter control, measure and record the efficiency is low, cannot satisfy the metal mechanical properties test automation requirements. Introducing computer technology building metal material mechanics performance laboratory management system is the key of resolving the problem.This topic research laboratory information management system (LIMS) design theory and technology, the laboratory design LIMS is demand and the realization method in detail. Analysis of the business process and laboratory management process about metal material mechanics laboratory, the design and realization of the metal material mechanics performance laboratory management system.The system fully considered the metal material mechanics laboratory actual demand, and combined with the actual situation of the project units, summarizes the current LIMS design scheme, the design of the hybrid system software architecture. System USES C/S and B/S combined system structure, on the one hand, the B/S structure to improve system security, scalability and maintainability, On the other hand, C/S structure to improve the data access efficiency and the ability to deal with complicated affairs system. The system application casting access control strategy, control role permission, for different users assign roles, simplify the system access control process. Using the object-oriented analysis and design method, using Delphi language and SQL Server mode developed user and authority management, sample management, record and report management, equipment management function. The system realized the laboratory information sharing and unified management, optimize the management plan and improve the efficiency of laboratory work. This topic system design idea, for other laboratory information system construction to have the certain reference value.
