With the popularization of digital media, people have higher demand for wireless transmission rate. In order to improve the transmission rate, IEEE has released 802.11n and 802.1 lac protocols a few years ago; one of the key technologies of the protocols is broaden the channel bandwidth, using higher channel bandwidth for wireless data transmission. The traditional 802.11a/b/g can only use 20MHz for data transfer channel, and using 802.1 In channel bonding technology,20MHz channels can be bound to 40MHz channel, one channel is main channel using the normal mode of operation, another channel as the auxiliary channel only in charge of channel aggregation (Channel Aggregation).802.11ac use and extend the channel binding technology, in addition to bind to 40MHz channel, also will be 4 consecutive 20MHz channel binding to a 80MHz channel,8 consecutive 20MHz channel binding to a 160MHz channel. At the same time, in order to further using idle spectrum resources which be wasted by continuous channel binding, can be 2 a non 80MHz channel binding for 80+80MHz whose data rate as same as 160MHz channel. Although the multi channel operation belongs to the physical layer, MAC layer also need support. Access point need transmit Beacon frames in both main channel and auxiliary channel, Beacon frame in the main channel will be added to Channel Set information elements, so that the presence of the auxiliary channel workstation; Beacon frame in the auxiliary channel will be added to contention-free information elements in order to avoid others to use the channel.Because of the access point which support 802.11n and 802.11ac protocols can use a variety of channels, how to manage these channels has become a problem must be solvable the in practice. Command line management always is a common solution according as its flexibility. This paper first analyzes the channel binding application background, working principle and function requirements, then make the demands and design of channel binding module and channel bandwidth management module, at last sum up the work of two sub modules and look to the future.
