Electromagnetic Scattering from vegetation and rough surface plays an important role in analyzing radar remote sensing information. In this dissertation, the finite difference time domain(FDTD) method was used to do research of the electromagnetic scattering problems from three aspects deeply and system atically. The first topic in this research paper focuses on the electromagnetic scattering from the rough land surface with a medium. Secondly, the electromagnetic scattering from the rough land surface of layered medium is studied. Finally, the composite scattering from the rough land surface with target is examined. The main works and results are as follows:1. The Rayleigh distribution rough soil surface is simulated employed by Monte Carlo Method, the electromagnetic scattering from the Rayleigh distribution rough soil surface is investigated using FDTD. The curves of the bistatic scattering coefficient in scattering angle are obtained by numerical calculation, the influence of the root mean square, correlation length of rough soil surface, the moisture capacity of soil, and the frequency of incidence wave parameters. Then the reason analysis was discussed.2. The layered medium rough surface of soil surface covered with coal was simulated by the One-dimensional Weierstrass fractal function, using the four component model of soil dielectric constant indicates the dielectric properties of natural rough land, The characteristics of electromagnetic scattering from rough soil surface covered with isotropy and well-proportioned coal was studied using FDTD, the curves of scattering coefficient with varying scattering angle and the frequency of incident wave are obtained, the influence of the root mean square and correlation length of rough soil surface with layered medium, the depth of coal, the type of coal, the moisture capacity of soil, and the frequency of incident wave on the bistatic scattering coefficientwas discussed.3. The one-dimensional Gauss rough ground surface and layered fractal rough ground surface was simulated by the Monte Carlo method and One-dimensional band limited Weierstrass fractal function respectively. The composite scattering of rough surface and the target object was studied using FDTD, through numerical calculation to get the curves of composite scattering coefficient with scattering angle on the rough surface, the influence of the root mean square height, correlation length, soil humidity, target center distance of rough surface height, the length and width, inclination angle and target parameters such as incident wave frequency rate effects on the composite scattering coefficient was discussed.
