Gears were widely used in mechanical industries for capacity as transmitting power to change speed or direction, especially in the technological field of automobile and heavy machinery. The chamfering and deburring processes which can ensure surface qualities were essential in gear’s machining, whereas, there still exestis problems such as low efficiency and hidden danger to operators. Thus much more attention pays to the industrial robot which shows profound influence in manufacturing for its advantages such as increasing effiviency, improving working conditions and reducing production cost which may applied in gear’s processes.Industrial robot was an eminently automated and mechanized facility which performs well in severe enviroment or under high labor intensity condition and widely used in fields such as military affairs, medical treatment and manufacturing.This work wants to design a industrial robot which can feed gears automatically for the process of gear chamfering and deburring. Firstly of all, bulit an overall design schemes based on the actual working conditions and got a general structure desin plan, then did the mechanical check and model analysis of the key parts. Secondly, kinematic model of the robot was built to get the solution of the positive and inverse equations and analyzed errors, futhermore, the virtual prototype was simulated with ADAMS. Thirdly main parts of the robot incluing software system, electric contol cabinent and pneumatic control system were developed. Finally experiments on testing precision, efficiency and other properties of the robot were performed and revelant datas have been collected and analyzed.
