The Design Of Simulation Platform For Delay Tolerant Network

Delay tolerant network has a strong practical significance for its applications in interplanetary network, nomadic network, packet switching network, military struggle as well as space integrated information systems, and so on. With the further improvement of DTN, its applications will be more extensive, and ultimately it will be inseparable with our life.Network simulation is to simulate network behavior using computer technology to construct the network topology, network protocol. NS2(Network Simulator, NS) is composed of LNBL network study group American California University in 1989 the development of an open source codenetwork simulation software.Because of the characteristics of the DTN network each are not identical, the route target, mechanism will vary, there is no unified classification. In large part the DTN routing toinfrastructure aided routing and non infrastructure aided routing.In order to study the related areas of DTN, a deep understanding of its architecture is essential. In this paper, we study the following aspects of DTN:(1) Firstly, study the structure of DTN protocol, which includes the basic structure of DTN, the packet format and so on.(2) This thesis gives a detailed design on the bundle data formats and data processing in DTN.(3) We carriy out the implementation of DTN simulation platform based on NS2. It includes the study of NS2, the implementations of DTN packets, protocols, and simulations.(4) For bundle packets, we implement the primary block, payload block as well as administrative records. For DTN data processing, we implement custody transfer, reception, cancelling the transfer, the registration of endpoint and the end of registration, manual routing configuration and administrative records processing module. Finally we make some tests on the DTN simulation platform.
