Image segmentation is one of the important works of digital image processing. In the case of traditional segmentation algorithms can not complete the requirements of complex shapes proposed segmentation algorithm for image segmentation based on active contour model. Appeared geometric active contour model algorithm, successfully resolved the parametric active contour segmentation model can not deal with the issue of natural topology changes. The level set algorithm, but also greatly promoted the development of geometric active contour model in the field of image segmentation.This paper studies one of the hotspots of image segmentation based on level set method of image segmentation problem. On the basis of some of the existing algorithms and abroad on the analysis, in-depth analysis of the level set in the development of some of the classic algorithms, and applies these algorithms for medical image segmentation, to get a detailed comparative analysis of the results. Which can not be accurately segmented image on weak edge algorithms make improvements.To solve the level set method for obvious weak edge gradient information of image segmentation problem, this paper introduces the material physics crystal dislocations.
