The Development And Research Of Teaching System For Engineering Drawing Based On AutoCAD

Engineering drawing is called "the language of engineering". It as thecompulsory-technology basic course to the students in engineering colleges hasfocused on developing the ability of space imagination and image thinking ofthe students. There are some defects existed in the traditional teaching methods,such as inaccurate teaching goal, less practical application and solely teachingmodel, et al. Therefore, the traditional teaching methods have been unable toimprove the students’ ability effectively, and need to make some essentialchanges on teaching reform.In order to reduce the burden on the teachers and improve teaching level,this paper was focused on the applications of AutoCAD in engineering drawing,mainly includes the method and process of three-dimensional modeling, theapplication of intersection in cutting body modeling, the mutual transformation method between two-dimensional view and three-dimensional solid rapidly. Andsome typical models of two-dimensional view and three-dimensional solid weredrawing by the classification of superposition, cutting body, combination andintersection according to the textbook; The secondary development of AutoCADwas produced, and teaching system was developed, including making thetwo-dimensional view and three-dimensional solid into slides, and making itinto a slide library, the pull-down menus and image control menus werecustomized, then the calling for drawing the graphics was realized; The drawingprocess of each graphic was made into slides, scripting language is adopted toall parts of programming, then the animation shows of graphics productionprocess were realized by calling program.According to the application research of AutoCAD in engineering drawing,a fast drawing method of two-dimensional view and three-dimensional solid wassummed up. The teaching system for engineering drawing was developed byintegrating into the idea of drawing, and each model was developed according tothe two-dimensional chart fill a vacancy, two-dimensional view, andthree-dimensional solid. In class, the teacher can be calling a two-dimensionalchart fill a vacancy for students to imagine three-dimensional solid, also thethree-dimensional solid can be given to students to draw a two-dimensional view,and show-how the process through animation presentation. From that thestudents can develop the ability of space imagination and reverse thinking, andimprove their enthusiasm. In addition, teaching system was developed in the AutoCAD environment, it can be helping students improve their proficiency inAutoCAD. After class, students can be doing their own review by using teachingsystem to consolidate knowledge. This system has a wider significance in theteaching of engineering drawing. In the future, with the teaching system put intouse, it will make a contribution to drawing teaching.
