The Communicating Experience Via Digital Media In The Perspective Of Media Technology

The development of media technology exerts extensive and deep influence on people’s visual communication experience. This study takes the application of touch-screen finger painting on iPad and its user as the research object, exploring the impact of media technology on the subject’s communicating experience via participating-observation and in-depth interview.In the cultural critical understanding of the theoretical analysis of "device paradigm", the iPad touch-screen finger painting, as a "media device", in static and dynamic aspects, transforms painting into results-oriented format, fetters and molds its users, as a result of these, the dehumanized technology causes the alienation of man. Still, in the cultural critical understanding of the theoretical analysis of "device paradigm", art in the application of iPad touch-screen finger painting, as daily self-experienced life practice focusing the real world, may defuse the tension between human beings and technology and help its users to break out the technical constraint and return to the subject position in the construction of the world meaning.
