It is of great significance to study the radiation characteristics of airborne antenna using Electromagnetic method and it can sharply reduce the research costs. The electromagnetic method for computing airborne antenna has been one of the major, while the accuracy is still a major issue difficult to solve. The airborne antenna is large in electrical size, so a very large amount of calculation which the computer hardware still cannot solve is needed to get the exact solutions. Therefore, this paper had solved it on the algorithm.Based on the project, the following works are given in this paper:The first, the higher-order method of moments with high-precision has been discussed. Using higher-order basis functions, the Mo M can reduce the amount of computation when the surfaces of aircraft are relatively smooth and bigger. By controlling the grid of model, we can control the amount of the calculation to a certain degree.Secondly, the waveguide arrays with slots on narrow side have been studied. Because the antenna arrays have some advantages of with high efficiency, small in volume, compact gap structure, and low side-lobe etc., they are widely concerned in recent years and applied on airborne antenna. However, the large slot antenna arrays are lager in electrical size and aircraft is when it works at the antenna operating frequency, which bring out difficult to obtain the results.Thirdly, a domain decomposition method(DDM) is proposed in this paper. Using the method, the problem with a very large electric size is divided into several parts that can be calculated separately, and the total fields are obtained by an iterative algorithm finally. Furthermore, the metal and the dielectric part of the model can also be counted separately by the method. In this way, the amount of computation can be reduced greatly. A lot of examples are provided to verify the validity and reliability of the algorithm. After verified the accuracy, the electrical parameters of the airborne slot antenna array are calculated by combining the higher-order Mo M and domain decomposition methodabove.
