As the increase in the number of equipments and types of devices, the amount of data transferred in the Internet of Things also increases exponentially. Massive data will not only increase the network load, but also reduces the speed of transmission and processing. Among the Internet of Things work tasks, some relatively simple in processing but strict in real time. If let them processed directly by the equipment which are in the perception layer. That not only can improve the time efficiency, but also can reduce the network load.In order to process the simple real-time tasks on devices in the perception layer, the following works were done.First, analyze the multi-mode Io T gateway, study the characteristics of function and the deficiency existing in the present gateway. Embedded hierarchical gateway is designed in the embedded terminal based on multi-mode Io T gateway. Hierarchical gateway is the auxiliary of Io T gateway and reduce the heavy load of the Io T gateway.Second, removing data redundancy is added to RFID module of embedded hierarchical gateway. Removing the information redundancy due to its short cycle of reading label, as well as multiple readers read the same label for causes. Avoid the same data transporting many times in the Internet of things, improve the effectiveness and precision of RFID data and reduce the amount of data transport upward and the communication cost.Third, the data caching module is added in the embedded hierarchical gateway, that provides storage support for communication and coordination between hierarchical gateways. At the same time adding data caching module makes the hierarchical gateway satisfy the requirements of multimedia data transported in the Io T, makes sure that the multimedia data was already received for sending.The fourth, this paper design a connectivity algorithm research on perception layer nodes in the Internet of Things to achieve connectivity among equipments. For simple real-time tasks, connectivity devices can coordinate to process the data together. That may improve processing speed for real-time tasks in the Internet of things. By comparing the time for processing simple real-time task before and after connecting, the probability of traffic jams as well as the energy consumption of the nodes, this paper proves that the connectivity algorithm research on perception layer nodes in the Internet Of Things effectively improve the processing time for simple real-time tasks, achieve the purpose of improving the real-time performance and reduce the network load.Finally, the imperfect aspects and problems required further studies has been concluded.
