As packages can be seen everywhere, during the production process, the sealing quality of packages will affect the quality of products. The leak has serious impact on food quality and production safety. Most detection techniques can not applied to the leak detection of liquid packages. In order to realize the non-destructive, rapid, anti-interference, low cost online leak detection of liquid packages, this paper put forward a set of leak detection system for liquid packages based on spectral and imaging analysis.This paper provides two kinds of liquid packages leak detection methods, respectively, fluorescence spectroscopy detection method and near infrared spectroscopy detection method. Fluorescence spectroscopy leak detection method is based on fluorescence spectroscopy, according to the fluorescence characteristics of the sample, using the exciting wavelength of the liquid sample as the wavelength of the light source, then the photoelectric detector can detect the fluorescence signal, which can be used to detect the leak of this sample. The detection principle of near-infrared spectroscopy method is near-infrared spectroscopy technology (NIR). Near-infrared spectrum shows the absorption properties of the measured object. The system in this paper chooses a characteristic wavelength from the near-infrared spectrum of the liquid sample as the wavelength of the light source, by capturing near-infrared image with a camera and processing images with a program, it can recognize objects and achieve the target of leak detection.The near infrared spectroscopy detection system was build and the experimental analysis was done in this paper, and the detection rate of this system is 10 pieces/sec.This paper completed a recognition algorithm for leak detection, which includes threshold processing, contour extraction and so on. Ultimately it can recognize the contour of the liquid and the packages, and the minimum diameter of the liquid leakage detection is 0.8mm.This paper developed two leak quantization indices, which are the absolute value of leakage and the relative value of leakage, both can be applied to the leak imaging recognition system as a leak criterion.The paper wrote the image processing software of leak detection system, with visual programming based on C++ and image processing library of OpenCV.In this paper, the liquid packages leak detection system is described from several aspects, such as the detection principle of the system, hardware selection, image processing algorithm and so on. This system can achieve non-destructive, rapid, anti-interference, low cost online leak detection for the liquid packages.
