Internet of things is the third global information revolution after computer and internet. Since August 2009 when Premier Wen Jiabao put forward the " Sensing China", the technology of internet of things, which is developing rapidly, has been fully applied in different aspects of social life. Guangdong is on the front line of the internet of things technology application market. Some vocational school and colleges have set up major of internet of things technology application(orientation). However, there is still a big gap between the demand of the market and the quantity and the quality of the technician. Internet of things in vocational schools, which mainly nurtures talents for this industry, urgently needs to solve some problems, such as lack of teaching guidance and training resources, as well as short of qualified teachers. This research aims at selecting suitable learning content and designing professional curriculum system based on the working process and validate and improve this system during the practical teaching process.Guided by concept of the design oriented curriculum, the framework of the curriculum will be constructed based on the study of the previous theories. Around the theme of the development of professional courses of internet of things in vocational schools, methods like literature research, Internet survey, questionnaire survey and interview, teaching observation, comprehensive analysis will be adopted in this research. By means of occupation qualification research, the writer of this article carries out the analysis of the industry of internet of things, demand of talents major in internet of things, typical work task of internet of things, fields of study and design of learning environment, course design and evaluation of learning and so on. Combining with the characteristics of this major as well as students in vocational schools, practical teaching is carried out. Then the writer put forward systemic opinions on objective of cultivating talents major in internet of things technology in secondary vocational school, construction of courses and teaching implementation and evaluation.This research further improve the application of the theories of course development which based on working process in secondary vocational schools. It is meaningful for secondary vocational schools to carry out the courses development, curriculum reform and teaching implementation and evaluation. It provides strong reference for vocational colleges to make sure their training target. Besides, it helps to make the realization of the major of "Internet of things technology" possible.
