As a kind of special wireless sensor networks, Mobile wireless sensor networks are widely used in commercial, military, medical and other fields. Nodes’mobility make wireless sensor networks deployed to anywhere needed quickly and flexibly. Resource-constrained, unattended, mobile and other features of nodes in mobile wireless sensor networks make their own networks full of serious potential security menace. As an important supporting technology in mobile wireless sensor networks applications, node localization technology, whose security will also rise to a great challenge in face of attacks. Mobile wireless sensor networks secure localization has become a research issue that can not be ignored. Considering security requirements in mobile wireless sensor networks, based on the study on localization technologies and typical modes of network attacks in wireless sensor network, this thesis focuses on the research of secure localization algorithms for mobile wireless sensor networks.Firstly, the research status of localization technologies and secure localization technologies in wireless sensor networks are both summarized from static wireless sensor networks and mobile wireless sensor networks, and their limitations and shortcomings are summed up. Localization algorithms for the two types of networks are classified. Several common localization algorithms and their localization performance are described detailly. Meanwhile, three typical network attacks are analyzed, whose attack essences are dissected, and then different means of attacks for different localization technologies are summed up.Secondly, the principle of a secure localization algorithm based on the gradient descent approach is studied. Simulations of node speed, attack power, the proportion of malicious nodes and number of nodes, whose impact on the localization performance of algorithms are analyzed,which verify that the algorithm effectively against spoofing attacks.Thirdly, the principle of a secure MCL algorithm against spoofing attacks is studied. The impact of spoofing attacks on the performance of MCL algorithm is analyzed. Simulations of node speed, anchor node density, node density and other parameters, whose impact on the localization performance of algorithms are analyzed from the aspects of localization error and localization rate of localizable unknown nodes, which conclude that SecMCL algorithm does not improve localization error effectively under attack, but can make localization rate return to normal that not be attacked.Fourthly, this thesis firstly analyzes the impact of wormhole attacks on the MCL algorithm detailly in order to solve the problem that defeats wormhole attacks in mobile wireless sensor networks localization, and then proposes a secure MCL algorithm, named DewormMCL, to defeat wormhole attacks, which takes advantages of nodes’mobility to identify anchor information effectively and filter out false anchor information. It requires no additional hardware support, and also not increase the communication overhead. Simulations of node speed, anchor node density, node density and radio irregularity, whose impact on the localization performance of algorithms are analyzed, which demonstrate that DewormMCL shows good resistivity to wormhole attacks.Finally, the research work of this thesis is concluded and the directions and suggestions of future research are presented.
