With the development of the process of industrialization in our country, mechanical components are developing towards a higher frequency and a larger scale. How to comprehensively and automatically monitor the key components of the mechanical equipment that distributed widely and under poor working environment, and then achieve life prediction and fault diagnosis scientifically, is the important topic concerned widely in industry. In the field of railway transportation, track geometry of railroad affects the safe operation of the train observably, and is also the key to real-time monitor the key period of mechanical state in railway track distributed widely. Wireless sensor network has scalable, integrated, intelligent, self-organized characteristic, it also has a wide range of application prospects in wide-area railway track monitoring. Managing multi-source data effectively and making the mass data visualized in monitoring are two important issues. Works carried out are as follows:Introduce the research background and significance of wide-area railway track monitoring, WSN technology and its application in rail transport field are discussed. Research statues of data storage that associated with upper platform of WSN and management technology, geographic information system, computer visualization technology are elaborated.Describe the wireless sensor network system compose of railway track monitor developed by our group briefly, analyzed from function and main performance parameters. According to data bulk of wireless sensor network and speed requirements of data transmission, the server and hardware of disk arrays are chose, software architecture corresponding is designed, system development environment and programming language are determined, technology roadmap between data layers and human-computer interaction in WSN of railway track monitor is established.Aiming at characteristics of diversity data and huge amount of data in WSN of railway track monitor, the problems of data storage and management are researched. Relational database and model of FTP storage and management are achieved; correlative database tables are established that can describe WSN devices, database connection and access module based on Web are established. Design a database information entering software which can search and store data quickly. Achieve adding, modifying, deleting data remotely and adding mass data one time.Fusion method between device information data in WSN and geographic information data is studied. Achieve the fusion between WSN sensor data and GIS data based on ArcGIS environment, establish database entity model using LINQ-TO-SQL and parse the data file, achieve data visualization under Web based on Silverlight module.The performance of the visualization part of WSN system in railway track monitor is tested, and the results show that the time of parsing four nodes data in a box is 124ms; and from the beginning of clicking the layer, to connecting to the database, querying nodes, reading the file path and reading the file data, the whole time of reading four nodes of one box is only 459ms. It also shows that the visualization system between GIS and WSN can reflect the device information of WSN in railway track monitor and sensor information of mechanical state timely and directly.
