With the development of life science,the awareness of human health is growing gradually. At the same time, the rapid development of electronic science and technology and widely used in recent years, intelligent electronic devices are commonly found in our daily life and work, so people with a degree of eye reached the highest level. In order to do more to protect our eyes, innovating the eye examinated equipments becomes necessary.Virtual instrument technology use computer’s hardware to replace the display and processing hardware of the traditional medical equipment, and use computer to deal with software processing. What’s more, it has obvious advantages in creating prototype rapidly, reducing developing time, and saving money.In domestic and abroad,corneal endothelial cell analysis systems are expensive, difficult to be developed, and have to spend much time on it. Moreover, the eye examinated equipments are in a huge market prospects situation. Therefore, this paper designs a system based on virtual instrument software platform, which is of great significance.In this study, by analyzing the application of virtual instrument in the field of medical equipment, and the advantages and disadvantages of existed corneal endothelial cell analysis system, which results that the virtual instrument technology is applied to the analysis of corneal endothelial cells. The main content of this study consists of the following components. Firstly,this paper analyzes the characteristics and market demand of corneal endothelial cell analysis system at home and abroad, summarizes the existing problems, and indicates the feasibility of virtual instrument system used in the analysis. Secondly,it develops three modules by Lab VIEW virtual instrument software platform, such as the recording and tracking of patient information management module, acquisition control module of corneal endothelial cell image, and analysis module of endothelial cell image. Then it uses Lab SQL toolkit to access to the Access database to realize the information management, and applies the NI Vision in image acquisition and control modules, and develops a program about gray-scale image, enhancement, smoothing, binarization and morphological processing algorithms. Finally, it uses MATLAB script node to realize the call for MATLAB image processing program to reach the purpose of extracting the cell biological parameters. Experiments show that the system do better in a short development cycle, practical, friendly interface, and having a broad market prospect.
