With the rapid development of virtual network techniques and mobile terminals inrecent years, the social media gradually become one of the important part of our life.Because of the communication of social media is interactive, the roles of audiencehave changed into the produce-consumer of information. People express their opinionsand share ideas though the network public discourse platform created by social media.The rights of information production and communication have been decentralized, onthe contrary, the monopoly position of traditional media has been broken and themedia pattern has changed. In addition, in order to adapt to the new environment ofmedia created by social media, traditional media become to use social media, payattention to feedback of audience, and create a more equal discourse space.However, social media brings some problems such as network rumors, privacydisclosure and information security threats and national political security threats. Thecharacteristic that information dissemination of social media is fast and anonymousmake the regulation become more difficult and the old regulation mechanism of mediaisn’t adapt to social media. As a result, to establish a new regulation system for mediais urgently.The dissertation elaborates the theory of social responsibility and its developmentin new age and then analyses the characteristics of social media from two perspectivesof synchronism and diachronism. After the analysis of the regulation situation anddilemma of social media, the paper proposes some regulation ways from legal system,media industry management and media literacy these three points of microcosmic view.Besides, the paper expounds paths of establishing and improving the system of newmedia regulation in macrocosmic perspective. In a word, this paper aims to illustrate ahealthier, more orderly, more stable and more open environment for media industry, and moreover, it also provides some references for maintaining social stability andpublic interest protection.
