Online public opinion in event in public events related to transgenic technologyrefers to netizens· expressions which is a collection of cognition, attitude, emotion andbehavioral tendency, which is closely related to the stimulation of transgenic technologyevent, and expressed through the we mediaμ platform. Science informationcommunication is the two-way or the multidirectional communication in scienceinformation producers, the mass media, government and the general public, which needssome certain methods and platforms.In the background of online public opinion in transgenic events, this paper studies thescience information communication, which is based on "5w" communication theory, andseveral dimensions, namely, the spread of scientific information, communication elements(participation main body, content and direction), the propagation path of scientificinformation and the spread of science communication effect. The main participants inscience information include science information producers, the government, the massmedia and the general public; Delivering content contains the knowledge itself and mentalinformation related to science; Direction of propagation has the characteristics ofnonlinear multi-way transmission; The cycle of transmission path is circulated.This article also points out that the general public·s perception is insufficient, thedecrease of the credibility of the government and experts has a bad influence on effect ofthe science information communication in online public opinion in transgenic events.Strategy based on path and the defect cause analysis, points out that we should improvethe communication effect from the following aspects: the general public, multi-agentlinkage, propagation path and dissemination form of content.
