With the rapid development of digital technology, embedded system has been used invarious fields.Radar display and control platform which is an important part of radarsystem, has been increasingly designed with high performance embedded system. Thispaper presents a radar display and control platform design based on embedded system.The high performance microprocessor and embedded real time operating system improvethe performance and reliability of radar display and control platform effectively.In terms of hardware, according to the special requirements of radar display andcontrol platform, the project choose the PowerPC QorIQ P1022developmentsystem(P1022DS) as embedded microprocessor of the system, and use LCD as the displaydevice.In terms of operating system, according to the actual needs of the situation, theproject choose the VxWorks as the operating system of the display and control platform.The project use the Workbench integrated development environment to develop theembedded system with VxWorks, compared to the traditional Tornado integrateddevelopment environment, the Workbench is more convenient to be used as developmenttool, because of its excellent capability of project management. Since the display moduleof the radar display and control platform is very complex, the project use the Wind RiverMedia Library(WindML) to assist the development. The P1022DS has not been supportedby WindML, that is to say there is no display driver for this microprocessor. The centralcontent of this paper is to develop a display controller device driver for the P1022DS.This paper has fully described the key technology which is used in this project. Thekey technology include VxWorks system component、BSP、VxWorks device driverdevelopment、WindML. This paper introduces the development process of the devicedriver with Workbench. This paper analyzes the display controller of the P1022DS andkey functions of the device driver, and finally introduces the debugging and testing of thedisplay controller device driver.The system has been proved successful, which laid a solid foundation for the furtherperformance optimization and extensions of the radar display and control platform.
